About the apprenticeship -

Our Apprenticeships are site based and can take up to two years to complete. Apprentices work towards an Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration and an end point assessment.  

The role is both varied and challenging based within the Planning / EHS or Office Services team who support production teams with a range of tasks, providing support across the site.

We require someone who is positive, enthusiastic and customer orientated who is looking to develop their skills and gain experience in a varied and challenging administrative role.

Your day-to-day duties will typically include: 

  • Administering time and attendance information to ensure the accuracy of information.
  • Processing technical and administrative purchase order requests using relevant IT systems, SAP, Ariba etc.
  • Process overtime requests and perform necessary checks and approvals.
  • Organising internal/external meetings including taking minutes of meetings.
  • Booking travel and accommodation for colleagues travelling within the UK and overseas.
  • Assist with the coordination and support of events both internal and external.
  • Completion of all academic assignments within agreed timescale which will be reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Supporting STEM activities including work experience, volunteering and attendance at recruitment events.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date EHS records, reports, and documentation.
  • Assist in managing and updating safety databases and systems.
  • Coordinate and schedule EHS-related training, meetings, and audits.
  • Support the preparation of regulatory reports and ensure adherence to EHS standards.
  • Assist with monitoring site compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Support the delivery of EHS awareness campaigns and training sessions.
  • Act as a point of contact for EHS queries, directing them to the appropriate team member if needed.
  • Prepare communication materials such as newsletters, posters, and presentations on EHS topics.
  • Assist the EHS team in conducting site inspections and risk assessments.
  • Help track and follow up on action plans derived from audits or incident investigations.
  • Completion of all academic assignments within agreed timescale which will be reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Supporting STEM activities including work experience, volunteering and attendance at recruitment events.

What you need to make a difference

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • ICT Level 2 is advantageous.
  • A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.
  • Good knowledge of IT programmes including Excel.
  • Flexible and adaptable in your approach.
  • Good interpersonal and strong communication skills.
  • The ability to contribute positively to a team working environment.
  • A positive, can-do attitude.
  • Good organisational skills and be able to self-manage your time.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills.
