Posit, PBC empowers data scientists to use the open-source tools they know and love with the centralized management, security, and support they need at work. Our mission is to create open-source software for data science, scientific research, and technical communication–driving positive change through data regardless of economic means.
We are looking for an experienced and innovative Brand & Marketing Copywriter to join our creative team in marketing to help implement and evolve our brand voice spanning internal and external channels. The creative team works cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, Event Marketing, Community/Customer Engagement, Sales disciplines–and anyone else internally who requires creative support to ensure consistency and cohesion of our brand, both visual and written.
The Brand and Marketing Copywriter is the guardian and champion of Posit's brand voice, crafting compelling narratives that resonate with our target audience and drive business results. This role will require a deep understanding of our products, our market, and our customers, as well as exceptional writing and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller, a meticulous editor, and a strategic thinker who can translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging messaging.
We're dedicated to crafting clear and effective messaging for technical software products that improve the world. You may be right for this role if:
- You are enthusiastic about resolving complex, technical problems through excellent storytelling, often boiling complicated concepts down to simple and striking taglines
- You can work efficiently on your own but love to collaborate
- You enjoy driving the full range of copywriting activities, from copyediting to campaign conception to channel distribution across emails, blogs, social media, the web, and more.
What you will own
- Define, develop, and evolve Posit's brand voice and messaging framework across all external and internal channels.
- Ensure consistency and cohesion of Posit's brand messaging, solidifying share of voice, brand recognition, and market trust.
- Write and implement messaging concepts, brand tone of voice, and messaging framework guidelines for all creative projects.
- Deliver consistently innovative and top-quality copy and content that tells an engaging and technically accurate story across various platforms (web, digital marketing campaigns, product collateral, sales enablement materials, events, video content).
- Craft compelling narratives that increase reach, awareness, consideration, conversion, and long-term customer value.
- Write and implement messaging concepts, brand tone of voice, and messaging framework guidelines for all creative projects, from campaign themes and social copy to web experiences and customer stories.
- Optimize existing content for SEO and craft forward-thinking campaign messaging for Posit’s marketing initiatives by audience and persona.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to gather requirements and connect integrated brand strategy with integrated digital marketing strategy.
- Partner with event stakeholders to conceptualize, scope, design, and produce all copy and content for events, including web experience, campaign deliverables, signage, printed collateral, video interstitials, and digital signage.
- Provide thought-out points of view and lead presentations on campaign messaging, from high-level themes and taglines to persona-targeted messaging.
- Provide clear direction and feedback to team members and project managers.
- Instill a strong sense of ownership, agency, and autonomy within the team while maintaining trust and credibility with stakeholders.
A bit about you
- 8+ years of copywriting experience with a proven track record of delivering tangible business results.
- You have a great portfolio showcasing experience across high-level messaging, product value propositions, paid and organic media campaigns, printed collateral, email communications, and content marketing channels.
- You have experience using project management tools (Jira, Wrike, Asana) and at least a broad understanding of agile methodologies
- You are adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with the ability to manage ambiguity, multi-task, organize, and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- You are humble and people-focused. You invest in strong relationships with your colleagues and can motivate your team even in the most complex situations.
- You thrive on solving problems through clear storytelling and design, and enjoy the opportunity to shape the future of a company’s voice.
- You are both pragmatic and data-driven. You are perfectly willing to revisit the drawing board if new data supports the need for a different approach.
- You excel at collaborating iteratively. You are comfortable both ideating and executing, and you can move seamlessly between the two modes.
- You model excellent communication and collaboration skills, and you can function effectively in a distributed team. You require minimal guidance because you take the initiative to spot—and do—what should be done.
- You are internally driven by curiosity and continuous learning. You have proven that you can be entrusted with big decisions and strive to bring customer understanding and empathy to the entire team. You gracefully accept feedback and critiques and seek out any new information that will help prepare you for your next challenge.
- Attention to detail: You have a reason for everything you do and have strong craftsmanship, but also know when perfection isn’t needed.
