Purpose:
The Billing & Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring timeliness and accuracy in the billing process, while analyzing large volumes of financial and operational data to improve efficiency and identify optimization opportunities. This role combines billing expertise with data analysis, providing reports and strategic recommendations for decision-making.
MAIN RESPOSABILITIES:
Billing & Finance:
- Generate and issue invoices accurately, ensuring compliance with contracts and regulations.
- Review and validate data in purchase orders, contracts, and billing systems.
- Coordinate with internal teams (finance, sales, operations, and customer service) to resolve discrepancies.
- Follow up on customer payments and handle accounts receivable management.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal billing policies.
- Performance of billing related internal controls, ensuring that any open issues are resolved expediently.
- Coordinate with our Billing application´s external supplier to resolve discrepancies and include new enhancements included in customers’ contracts.
- Collaborate in external and internal audits
- Take responsibility for delivering accuracy data in month-end and year closing on time
- Organize a monthly meeting with Finance and Customer Service managers regarding to “receivables and other relevant activities”
Data Analysis:
- Extract, clean, and analyze billing, revenue, and accounts receivable data.
- Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI, Excel, or similar tools.
- Identify patterns and trends in data to improve billing accuracy and minimize errors.
- Automate billing processes and standard periodical reports.
- Generate data-driven insights to optimize pricing strategies, discounts, and operational efficiency.
- Develop predictive models to detect potential issues in payments and billing.
RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
(Knowledge)
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
- 2+ years of experience in billing, financial analysis, or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of data analysis tools: SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python
- Experience with ERP systems (IFS preferreable) and billing platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, Power Query, etc.).
- Knowledge of report automation and data analytics.
- Advanced English
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Ability to handle large volumes of data and generate actionable insights.
- Teamwork and effective communication with financial and technical areas.
