About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Engineer to join our Application team at Pentera. In this role, you will primarily focus on the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the core component of our Automated Security Validation platform.

While your day-to-day responsibilities will center on the core product, you may occasionally contribute to maintaining or developing features in related repositories that impact other products as well. Your work will be integral to delivering a cutting-edge, secure, and scalable solution to some of the most advanced cybersecurity challenges in the industry. As part of the team, you’ll collaborate with top-tier professionals, helping to evolve and enhance our on-premise platform and ensuring it remains at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the backend components, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
• Work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and QA engineers to deliver impactful features and enhancements for the on-premise platform.
• Participate in architectural discussions and decisions, focusing on advancing the capabilities of our on-premise solution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, offering support to customers using our core product.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and produce clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Stay updated with the latest backend technologies and best practices, bringing fresh ideas to enhance the product.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for your work, from development and testing to deployment and monitoring, ensuring reliable delivery of the on-premise product.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in backend development.
• Proficient in Python, with a strong preference for Flask; experience with Java (Spring Boot) is essential.
• Significant experience with MongoDB.
• Deep understanding and extensive experience with designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Solid knowledge of OOP principles, design patterns, and core coding principles (e.g., SOLID and GRASP); strong architectural skills are a must.
• Experience with Docker.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to resolving challenges.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
• A passion for staying updated on the latest technologies and trends, with a focus on improving and enhancing system architecture.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, best practices, and common vulnerabilities (an advantage).
