Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc., a global leader in the manufacturing of industrial lift trucks, is seeking an experienced and motivated Azure Cloud Engineer to join our Information Technology team at our Americas Headquarters in Greenville, NC. In this role, you will lead the strategic design, development, and management of our cloud infrastructure, working cross-functionally to support scalable and secure cloud solutions.
What you will do:
Cloud Platform Strategy & Execution

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Azure cloud infrastructure and services across the enterprise.

Guide and mentor technical teams, helping define strategy, specifications, and work plans aligned with business needs.

Implement enhancements and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud environments.
-
Provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution to support operational excellence.
Technical Leadership & Delivery

Serve as a subject matter expert in Azure solutions, cloud architecture, and DevOps best practices.

Deliver strategic technology recommendations and drive solution delivery that enhances user experience and system reliability.

Oversee project execution, standards development, and task management while ensuring technical deliverables meet quality and compliance benchmarks.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation

Champion continuous improvement and identify opportunities to enhance platform performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

Define and implement standards and governance for cloud infrastructure to drive consistency and innovation.

Lead initiatives to modernize systems and adopt new Azure services and tools.
Training & Support

Support knowledge transfer across teams, including the creation of training materials and documentation.

Educate internal teams, partners, and customers on solution design, best practices, and adoption strategies.
Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate effectively across IT and business units to gather requirements, deliver solutions, and manage expectations.

Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

What you will need:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
-
7+ years of relevant IT experience, with a strong focus on cloud-based systems.

Azure Administrator Certification required.

Azure Solutions Architect Certification strongly preferred.
Skills, Experience & Abilities:
-
Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and managing technical teams.
-
Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, infrastructure as code (IaC), and cloud security best practices.
-
Hands-on experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, PowerShell, and DevOps pipelines.
-
Demonstrated success in leading cloud migration projects, system integrations, and platform modernization efforts.

Excellent knowledge of networking, storage, virtualization, and monitoring tools within cloud environments.

Ability to lead and manage vendor relationships and external project partners.
-
Familiarity with industry frameworks such as PMI or NPMM, and experience managing large-scale IT projects.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, including active involvement in technology communities or professional organizations.
