Job Overview:
Part of LPL’s Client Success group, the Investor Focused Solutions (IFS) team plays a central role in serving end-investors directly through a team-based, virtual call center model. This product manager role will serve as a critical partner to enhance the platform modernization efforts for advisors and operations specialists to improve efficiency and business effectiveness. In this role, you will be the bridge between vision and execution, defining requirements based on user research and business needs. You’ll work closely with key business leaders to enhance existing initiatives, identify new verticals, and lead projects to continue the growth of IFS.
What you will do

Determine business needs and desires through interviews, market research, competitive research and insights from our team to support the technology needs of IFS, LPL Financial Advisors, and Institutions.

Take an innovative and agile approach to enhancing existing products or building new products by partnering with vendors and internal LPL stakeholders to identify and solve for customer “jobs to be done.”

Define and continually refine key attributes of existing and new offerings including the business case, economics, and operational model.

Define mid and longer term product development roadmap, key features/capabilities, and manage the product cycles with clear schedules, deliverables and milestones.

Lead significant projects and initiatives for the business from the initial idea through completion. These projects will contribute to the growth of our business and diversification of our services.

Develop metrics to assess the success of products, features, and business initiatives. Determine necessary enhancements.
What does your success look like in the first 90 days?

Understand the business strategy and product vision clearly enough that you can pitch it, carry the current initiatives underway, and identify other key problems you’re focused on solving over the next 3 and 6 months.

Become a subject matter expert on your users’ needs with respect to product as a service and continuity of the client relationship.

Participate and contribute to the launch of new services to greater LPL.

Take ownership of a roadmap and work closely with your business partners, sales managers, operations managers, and institutional program managers to shape it.

Assess our existing product portfolio and begin to structure a backlog of new features and/or experiences.

Set a vision for your product portfolio and lay the foundation to execute against.

Take ownership of projects and initiatives, develop and lead through to completion.
Skills, experiences, and education required
-
3+ years of experience building products or technology-enabled services.

3+ years of professional business experience within product management, product design, or project management roles.

Project management experience.

Highly organized, strong analytical ability, able to identify trends, opportunities, and measure success.

Skilled communicator, able to effectively communicate vision, influence decisions, create and deliver presentations that summarize complex initiatives to senior leaders across lines of business.

Previous experience working in financial services.

Strongly preferred: experience with product as a service and team-based wealth management models.

Strongly preferred: Salesforce product management experience.

Preferred but not required: SAFE (Scaled Agile for Enterprise), CPM (Certified Project Manager) credential, Six-Sigma certification (ex. Black Belt, Green Belt)

A highly strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex problems, prioritize key issues, focus on relevant facts and maintain a strong execution focus.

Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present materials to the highest levels in the organization and serve as a recognized subject matter expert, as well as the ability to frame complex issues visually.

Pay Range:
$106,088-$176,813/year
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
