Job Description
Primary functions and essential responsibilities
- Anaplan Model Development: Assist with the design, build, and maintaince of Anaplan models to support various aspects of Ares business, including cash flows, waterfalls, and KPIs.
- Manage the full life-cycle for Anaplan project management, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
- Work closely with business stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Anaplan solutions.
- Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources into Anaplan, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Work with Data teams to reconcile differences with other Ares systems.
- Model Maitninance: Proactively identify opportunities to improve business processes and model optimization, including efficiency gains or risk reduction, as it relates to financial planning and reporting workflows.
- Training and Documentation: Develop training materials and conduct user training to provide guidance to end-users to ensure they can effectively use Anaplan models, while developing and maintaining model and processe documentation.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of Anaplan models to ensure they meet business requirements and perform as expected.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues in Anaplan models in a timely manner.
qualifications
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Accounting, or Finance
- Certified Anaplan Model Builder 3, solution architect a plus.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Anaplan model building and end-to-end Anaplan deployment experience
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, Jira and Confluence a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience Required:
- 3+ years of professional experience in financial modeling and analysis, with at least 2 years of experience in alternative asset management
- 3+ years of recent and relevant hands-on experience with Anaplan implementation and model building
- 1+ years of experience with Business Intelligence and Reporting
- Inherent familiarity with institutional financial planning and fund accounting workflows, including associated data/systems and reporting requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of formal system implementation and utilization methodology - requirements gathering, design, build/test, and deploy
- Strong understanding of data integrations (upstream/downstream) and governance best practices
- Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with business partners and executives. Seen as a trusted and objective advisor
- Expert communication and presentation skills with the ability and confidence to articulate, present, and debate recommendations
- Hands-on experience with Anaplan is required; Anaplan Certified Model Builder 3 certification is required, solution architect a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, Jira and Confluence a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
