The opportunity
As an Associate Project Mechanical Design Engineer you will be part of the Valve Mechanical department which focuses on the project execution and product care of HVDC Valves. Our products convert AC current into DC and are used to transmit power over long distances and integrate renewables into the grid with minimal losses. In this role, you will have the opportunity to dive deep into the mechanical aspects of the HVDC valve design and be part of the valve design throughout the project.
You will have around 40 direct colleagues of multiple nationalities in Sweden, and with additional department colleagues in India and China. As a team, we support each other in achieving great results and have fun while doing it. This role offers you opportunities to work on projects in an international environment where you will collaborate with colleagues, customers and suppliers daily. How you’ll make an impact
- Perform mechanical design tasks using NX/Teamcenter and collaborate with colleagues to solve design challenges.
- Prepare production and installation drawings, purchasing documents, and project documentation.
- Interpret customer specifications, standards, and instructions.
- Interact with customers, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve delivery scope and participate in technical discussions and customer meetings.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Support assembly factory, testing facilities, and site installation.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives focused on increased productivity, quality, and continuous improvements.
Your background
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar area.
- Knowledge of 3D-modeling and performing 2D-drawings/layouts (ideally in NX/Teamcenter environment).
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and consistently setting and striving to achieve your goals.
- You are responsible and feel confident in making informed decisions without constant supervision.
- Proficiency in English is required, knowledge in Swedish is a great advantage.
