About The Roll*

• Design end-to-end customer experiences for Toast hardware products, focused on topics like device setup, management, and troubleshooting
• Work as part of a cross-functional team of Product Designers, Industrial Designers, and User Researchers to deliver hardware experiences that are intuitive, efficient, and delightful
• Work closely with partners in Design, Product Management, and Engineering to identify and define user pain points, crafting innovative design solutions that improve workflows and drive measurable user outcomes
• Conduct design reviews to obtain feedback, iterating on the designs to improve results
• Support qualitative and quantitative user research and testing to inform design iterations and ensure good outcomes for users and the business
• Design within Toast guidelines, best practices, and standards
• Success in this role will likely require the ability to regularly visit our hardware lab in Boston

The right ingredients* (Requirements)

• Professional or academic experience in Product Design
• Fluency in Figma, Miro, and other design collaboration tools
• Experience mapping workflows, creating wireframes and mockups, producing prototypes, and developing high-quality interfaces
• Experience testing with users and iterating on improvements
• Experience organizing complexity and working with cross-functional teams to drive decisions
• Ability to prioritize tasks and initiatives across multiple cross-functional stakeholder groups

• Enthusiasm about improving experiences for restaurant industry workers
• Experience designing for the complexities of connected hardware devices
• Experience designing for Android
