The Finance/Accounting team is seeking out driven, detail-oriented professionals to exercise GAAP principles while preserving the superior financial standing of our $15B company. These personnel examine data for accurate pricing in Customer Finance, reconcile/manage invoices as an Accounting Coordinator, or scrutinize the company’s state/federal income tax data in Corporate Tax. The Associate Payroll Accountant specializes in Payroll general ledger activities for company codes, focused on accounting activities for in-house payroll, while supporting and working closely with plant controllers and corporate team members.
Core Responsibilities

Balances and validates posting of payroll to general ledger for multiple employers and ledgers.

Allocates various payroll and tax expenses through journal entries.

Monitors and prepares payroll accruals and account validations ensuring an accurate reflection of outstanding liabilities.

Prepares multiple bank account validations.
-
Prepares and codes invoices.
-
Meets month-end close deadlines.

Determines and monitors intercompany general ledger posting requirements.

Ensures all balance sheet accruals are an accurate reflection of outstanding liabilities through preparation of monthly and periodic account validations.

Ensures strict confidentiality of payroll data.

Maintains compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley internal reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

Company will consider a currently enrolled college student with an anticipated graduation by end of current school year as qualified.

2+ years of Payroll accounting experience, preferred.

Experience with SAP, preferred.
-
Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles).
-
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy, as well as solid organization and time management skills.

Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
