Job Summary:
We are looking for a Data Platform Cloud Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for providing technical support for tools in the Azure Analytics domain, including, but not limited to: Azure Databricks, Synapse, Fabric and Azure Data Factory. You will work closely with Data Analytics teams, Data Scientists and Data Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data platform services. You will be responsible for making sure that Data and Analytics Domain Architecture can be integrated into the SC Johnson Cloud Foundation environment. You will own the implementation of required platforms and associated tools in Azure and provide support for Data Analytics team onboarding and access to those environments. You will serve as the contact for Platform enhancement planning in an Agile fashion with the various Data Analytics teams inside of SCJ. This role serves as the primary contact for data platform support issues, escalation and L3 guidance during Critical Incidence management (CIM).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for tools in Azure like Databricks, Synapse, Fabric and Azure Data Factory.

Provide Technical Architecture and Engineering Guidance on new Cloud Data Platform service implementations.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data platform services.

Work closely with Data Analytics teams to understand their requirements and provide guidance on how to use these tools effectively.

Collaborate closely with Cloud Platform team members to ensure Data Platform Architectures are designed to take advantage of underlying Cloud Platform services and configurations.

Create and present Data Platform Environment Architecture designs to various SCJ review teams such as Architecture Review Board (ARB) and Security Review Board (SRB).

Awareness of integration with Analytical solution outside of Azure landscape, eg: Tableau, DataRobot, Starburst, Immuta, Thoughtspot

Continuously improve support processes and procedures.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related degree or relevant military experience considered in lieu of degree requirement
-
2-3 years of experience with engineering, deploying, and configuring Azure Data Platform environments such as Databricks, Synapse and Fabric.
-
3+ years of experience in the engineering, and support of Cloud and on-premise platforms and technologies within medium to large-scale companies - Microsoft Azure preferred
-
3+ years of experience with one or more scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Terraform) CI/CD Tool experience, working with code repositories, automated testing and delivery.
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
-
Experience supporting Cloud Data Platform Architectures.

Experience with writing infrastructure as code and deploying infrastructure using Terraform

Experience with Azure DevOps, Git and its workflows, Azure Repo/GitHub
-
Experience with network layers and network infrastructure
-
Experience with Scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting
-
Basic understanding of Operating System environments including Windows and Linux.

Azure Certified Data Engineer\Azure Certified Architect; Cloud-based security controls
-
Understanding of Global Data Residency laws and regulations
-
Experience with Azure Storage design including ADLS, Blob, Files, Queues and Tables.

Experience in working with onsite/offshore support model/framework
-
Self-driven and ability to identify tasks/activities required to keep the environment healthy

Understanding of performance and capacity management and reporting
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Self-starter and self-learner
Job Requirements:

Full-time, permanent employment

Onsite work setup (M-F); remote work once a week is available upon regularization

Work Hours: 8:00AM or 9:00AM to 5:00PM or 6:00PM (Mondays thru Fridays)

Overtime might be required depending on the critical deliverables
-
This role is not eligible for relocation
