This position provides a highly skilled UI Architect specialized in Angular with an opportunity to create common front-end solutions and platforms across entire organization. These front-end platforms include common web components, graphing libraries, styling components, and frameworks to unify all our products into a consistent user experience. As a UI Architect, you will foster a strong sense of team camaraderie and leverage your collaborative nature to work with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality applications. 

At S&P Global, we use modern development services and tools such as GitLab, TeamCity, AWS, Serverless, DataDog, Artifactory, Confluence, and Jira. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for architecting and building new applications for our customers from the ground up. Our technology stack is continually evolving, but we have strong commitments to front-end technologies like Angular, SASS, and D3. You should be competent with these technologies but also continue to help drive us towards the latest and greatest new technologies in the web development ecosystem.

What you’ll work on:

  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and adaptive UI architecture using Angular.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the front-end development teams.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development methodologies for Angular based projects.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure efficiency, maintainability, and adherence to architectural vision.
  • Stay updated on new Angular features, broader trends in front-end development, and emerging technologies to enhance product development.
  • Optimize application for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
  • Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges.
  • Lead by example by writing clean, testable, and efficient code.
  • Utilize AWS technologies and Agile methodologies, including GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Terraform etc
  • Assist the Product Management group in translating requirements into technical specifications
  • Collaborate with product owners to enhance the value proposition of our applications

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 10-12 years of experience developing large scale front-end applications with at least 5 years focused on Angular 8+.
  • Deep expertise in Angular and its core principles, including modules, components, services, and dependency injection.
  • Strong experience with Angular, NgRX, CSS, TypeScript, and responsive/adaptive design.
  • Experience with JSON REST APIs, GraphQL, RxJs, D3 and integrating front end components with backend services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in team-oriented and independent environments.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to architect high-performance, scalable solutions.
  • Experience working in an Agile Development environment.

The following experience would be advantageous:

  • Working knowledge of AWS technologies and serverless architectures.
  • Familiarity with DevOps pipelines in Teamcity, GitLab, or Azure.
  • Experience with other front-end framworks such as React or Vue.js.
  • Proficiency in writing unit and feature tests using Jest and Cypress.
  • Expertise in CSS 3, including flex-box and animations.
  • Proficiency in HTML 5, CSS3, SASS, SCSS and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience using Git/GitLab for source control and code reviews.
  • Knowledge of web socket subscription/publishing for real-time features
  • Experience with Docker, Terraform etc is a plus.
