As an accountable team leader, you are responsible for your team's deliverables and artistic quality, and you will partner with other disciplines to develop effective delivery methods.

Effective communication is key in this role; you will ensure stakeholders and team members are well-informed and handle difficult conversations with empathy. You will build and maintain highly functional teams aligned with Riot's culture.

You are adept at recognizing and addressing team health issues promptly, maintaining high performance standards, and coaching team members to meet expectations. You will handle conflicts calmly and compassionately, ensuring that no issues go unaddressed and that alignment across disciplines and initiatives is maintained.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear visual direction aligned with the Art Director’s goals

  • Partner with the League PC, Modes and Gameplay Art Directors to define visual style and direction for multiple product features

  • Develop outsourcing strategies and documentation

  • Ensure the team produces high-quality artwork that meets technical performance targets

  • Partner with Product and Delivery teams to provide visibility into team deliverables and velocity

  • Maintain a healthy development pace for artists

  • Review final work, delivering feedback to ensure quality and consistency

  • Ensure IP cohesion and fidelity across projects

  • Hold the team accountable to Riot’s art quality and performance standards

  • Foster a diverse and inclusive team environment where all members feel valued

  • Reduce noise, emotional friction, and toxic patterns within the team

  • Balance the needs of Riot with the needs of the team

  • Represent the team’s voice and direction to other teams and products

  • Drive the development of efficient art pipelines

Required Qualifications: 

  • BA in Game Art Development (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience as a Senior or Lead Artist

  • 5+ years of industry experience

  • 4+ years of management experience
