Job Summary
The Assistant Statistical Research Scientist is a key member of the department. They have shared accountability for the success of the Research Department's scientific goals.
The Assistant Statistical Research Scientist primarily oversees client funded initiatives and contributes to the leadership of statistical and epidemiological methodology in alignment with the scientific strategy. They also lead complex statistical projects and grant development, and contribute to the development and implementation of the scientific strategy. They regularly collaborate with others to achieve departmental goals.
Essential Functions:
- Designs studies for client funded projects and leads the writing of protocols, statistical analysis plans, and official communications to regulatory agencies. Consults on design of internal initiatives. (45%)
- Contributes to the development of statistical and epidemiologic methodology in alignment with the scientific and business strategies. (10%)
- Leads or contributes to the writing of papers, abstracts, and manuscripts. (15%)
- Supports grant development and submission efforts, serving as investigator or principal investigator in grant-funded projects. (10%)
- Contributes to the development and implementation of the scientific strategy. (5%)
- Presents study findings at relevant conferences and meetings. (5%)
- Mentors junior Research staff and students in the development of technical, writing, presentation, and other scientific skills. (5%)
- Service to scientific community, such as reading scientific literature, reviewing journal articles, and participating in professional societies or local organizations (5%)
Education:
- Doctorate Degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or mathematics Required
Work Experience:
- less than 1 year related experience Required

- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Flexible and collaborative style
- Advanced statistical knowledge and analytical skills
- Ability to read, implement, and mentor others on statistical methods presented in peer reviewed statistical journals
- Excellent organizational skills, demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment, and an ability to supervise and delegate tasks
- Experience working across a diverse range of projects
