This is a hybrid position and requires onsite work at our Chicago HQ office 2 days per week.
The Role
At Green Thumb, continuous innovation is a key focus area as we seek to create the best product experiences for cannabis consumers. As an Innovation - Assistant Brand Manager, Edibles & Specialty you will be critical in executing our innovation strategy across key product categories to turn innovation concepts into revenue-generating products that grow our business and delight both our trade partners and our consumers. Innovation in the edibles and specialty category may include expansion of existing product lines and the optimization of existing products.
The Innovation - Assistant Brand Manager, Edibles & Specialty works collaboratively & cross-functionally with creative services, operations, consumer insights, brand & commercial marketing, quality, compliance, and R&D. This role will involve hands-on management of key workflows in the early stages of the product lifecycle – we are looking for someone with high curiosity and an insatiable desire to create and innovate the edible/oral delivery of cannabis.
Responsibilities
Strategy:
- Maintain intelligence on the market dynamics, including competitive landscape, market share, and environmental factors impacting GTI’s optimal product portfolio for assigned categories.
- Support the continued optimization of our innovation processes and systems.
Execution:
- Assist development of the cross-functional business cases to validate new product ideas.
- Support the cross-functional development of new formulations, including development of the technical brief, coordination of relevant internal and consumer sampling plans, and getting. approvals from key stakeholders.
- Support the cross-functional development of new packaging structures, including the briefing process, partnership with the packaging team, and approvals with key stakeholders.
- Support the packaging artwork development process for all market expansion projects.
- Manage all packaging workflows through our internal quality control system.
- Understand all state-specific regulations impacting formulations and packaging for clear guidance to both our R&D and creative/packaging partners prior to transition to local compliance resources.
Qualifications
- Exceptional organization and project management skills; strong attention to detail is a must.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, operations, or a related field.
- 1-3+ years of progressive business experience; cannabis or CPG experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with numbers.
- Strong writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to effectively prioritize and pivot in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong product acumen; cannabis knowledge is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, operations, or a related field preferred.

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
Green Thumb Pay Range
$60,000—$70,000 USD
