Job Description Summary:

Application Developers on the Global Business Applications team are responsible for developing new features and functionality, and enhancing application capabilities on Rocket’s critical back office systems and platforms. The Application Developer is responsible for engineering, enhancing, and testing applications and platforms.

DevOps Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Manage and optimize infrastructure on AWS, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, CloudFormation, or other IaC tools.
• Maintain and enhance Kubernetes clusters, including deployments, scaling, and monitoring.
• Manage and optimize Git repositories and branching strategies for efficient development workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues to ensure system reliability.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or other scripting languages to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployments and performance.
• Implement security best practices for cloud and on-premise DevOps environments.

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or infrastructure automation.
• Strong experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS, and networking.
• Expertise in Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Proficiency in Git for version control and collaboration.
• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration, scaling, and deployment.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Solid understanding of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex, less-defined projects.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud and containerized environments.
• Familiarity with database management and optimization.
• Experience with observability tools and performance tuning.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Travel Requirements:

• Minimal, <5%
