Analyst, Fund Investment & Managed Solutions

To satisfy the needs of our growing client base, Hamilton Lane is looking to hire an Analyst on our Fund Investment & Managed Solutions (“FIMS”) team in London. The FIMS Analyst will work closely with our Client Relationship Managers on client deliverables and special projects that help our EMEA based clients build and manage their private markets portfolios. The successful candidate will also gain valuable exposure to and work alongside the investment team on a regular basis. We seek professionals with a pro-active mindset and strong communication skills who show willingness to operate in a deadline-driven environment. This is an excellent opportunity to develop private equity experience as formal training and mentorship will be provided.

Client Responsibilities

• Work directly with Client Relationship Managers and other FIMS Team members on various client inquiries, pipeline calls, presentations, and portfolio development tasks
• Maintain a working knowledge of assigned client portfolios and the investments within these portfolios
• Extract information from General Partners to prepare regular portfolio performance analyses and activity updates
• Assist with client portfolio development including running pacing models, responding to allocation decisions and preparing strategic plans
• Respond to ad-hoc client questions and special requests
• Assist in the review of quarterly reports for clients
• Learn and maintain a working knowledge of HL technology tools to aggregate and present information needed for client deliverables
• Prepare for and engage in regular dialogue with other departments internally to aggregate information needed to help prepare client deliverables
• Assist with other duties and special projects (including business development requests) as needed

Fund Investment Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of the different strategies and sub-strategies within private markets, building a deep knowledge of fund managers across the EMEA region
• Assist with research and due diligence related tasks on investment opportunities, preparing analysis and delivering insight.
• Monitor portfolios and generate written reports on Hamilton Lane’s current fund investments through update meetings, quarterly calls, and annual meetings

Your background and skills will include:

• A minimum of 1-2 years work experience in the financial services industry. Private markets experience is not a requirement but is a plus
• University degree
• Capacity to learn, absorb and analyze information quickly
• Candidate should bring strong analytical and data processing skills, experience in an operations back or middle office role is a plus
• Candidate should be detail-oriented, responsible and organized
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft applications required (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
• Fluency in English required; additional European languages are a plus
