Position Summary:
Under the supervision and direction of the Manager of Alumni Relations, the Alumni Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in enhancing and executing a firmwide alumni relations program, as well as supporting ongoing efforts and initiatives of the broader Business Development team. This position will help to coordinate the development and execution of alumni relations engagement strategies, as well as other initiatives and special projects to support the identification and evaluation of connections and targets for new business development, relationship enhancement and other revenue generating opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with the Manager of Alumni Relations to implement the alumni relations strategy in support of the firm’s goals and objectives.
- Ensure alumni career and contact data is systematically gathered, verified, and maintained in the firm's customer relations management software system, InterAction. Proactively pursue opportunities to improve data integrity.
- Track attorney departures. Conduct outreach to departing attorneys to establish a touchpoint and resource for the individuals.
- Oversee the firm’s dedicated alumni website including overall functionality, content creation, and proactively suggesting ideas to make the site a valuable resource.
- Draft and disseminate a variety of communications and content to the firm’s alumni population, including content for the alumni website, social media postings, job board opportunities, and individual alumni outreach.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Alumni Relations and Events team members to conceptualize, execute, and evaluate return on alumni focused programming and events. Coordinator is expected to attend evening events (estimated at 1-2 per quarter).
- Track and analyze alumni relations program metrics, with an emphasis on ROI and revenue generation. Prepare reports and updates as needed to provide actionable intelligence for further relationship building and client targeting.
- Oversee and manage the alumni relations mailbox, responding to alumni inquiries in a timely, customer-service oriented manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2 years of related administrative experience working in Alumni Relations, Marketing, Business Development, Professional Services or a Law Firm environment preferred.
- Experience working in a marketing communications position or law firm is a plus. Experience working in an alumni-focused environment, including higher education advancement, is also a plus.
- Excellent organizational, time, and project management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and adjust to changing priorities in a flexible, professional, customer-service oriented manner.
- Strong communication skills (writing, editing, formatting, proofreading and presentation).
- Familiarity with CRMs (i.e. InterAction), email marketing systems (i.e. Vuture) and Microsoft suite, especially Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to work independently, as a collaborative, proactive team member, and with internal and external stakeholders across domestic and international locations
The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
New York Salary Range
$65,000—$80,000 USD
