AltaGas - Analyst, Project Controls Turnaround
Reporting to the Team Lead, Project Controls, you'll be at the heart of our turnaround projects, ensuring everything runs smoothly. In this role, you'll drive project progress and meticulously track costs. You'll collaborate closely with the turnaround scheduler, monitor performance against plans, and swiftly address any issues. Effective communication will be key to keeping the team aligned.
You Will:

Develop, update, and control project plans, and reportin; establish baseline documents for ongoing monitoring

Set up projects in the accounting system, including WBS, budget, cash spend outlook, and staffing plan

Lead project controls support: planning, cost controls, schedule management, forecasting, analysis, and closeout

Develop cost workbooks for tracking procurement, contracts, invoices, change orders, variance reporting, and cash flow forecasting

Create and maintain integrated schedules for materials, equipment, and services from project development to closure

Monitor and control project change management, prepare forecasts, maintain change logs, and expedite sign-off of change notices

Prepare monthly project accruals and spend forecasts

Generate weekly and monthly financial summary reports, ad hoc reports, and presentations, including cost, schedule, data

Liaise with Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Operations, and other internal groups

Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for timely and accurate reporting

Review invoices for accuracy and proper coding, ensure sufficient funds, handle disputed amounts, and submit to Accounts Payable with appropriate documentation

Collaborate with Maintenance Capital Project Controls to ensure Turnaround data is updated within the Maintenance Capital Portfolio

Travel to site locations as needed to aid in planning and setup of turnarounds with Turnaround Coordinators

Located at site during execution of turnarounds to review and process LEMS and other supporting documentation to ensure progress and costs are up to date and available to Turnaround Coordinators
You Have:

5+ years of financial project cost control, forecasting and financial analysis experience; experience with turnaround cost control would be an asset

Working Knowledge of AACE International practices

Experience with schedule software, including Microsoft Projects and Primavera Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Experience with Oracle JD Edwards – Project Costing is an asset

Ability to travel to project locations within Canada

Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities

Energy industry experience preferred

An Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Finance & Accounting, Business, or equivalent, with applicable further development in Project Controls preferred
