Managing the Insurance Risk & Financial Management sub-team under the Actuarial In-Force Management team to:
1. Monitor regular experience reporting and perform deep dive analyses to provide insights of emerging insurance risks to the business, and then drive the effective management of operating experiences and annual operating assumption setting.
2. Lead the transformation of data analytics process and modelling of insurance risks under economic valuation regime.
3. Participate in insurance risk advisory committees and collaborate with external professional bodies and reinsurers in gaining insights of the latest insurance experience trend.

Job Descriptions:

  • Lead the team to conduct regular experience monitoring and reporting, develop experience dashboard, perform deep dive studies to provide insights of emerging insurance risks to the business and to facilitate modelling of these risks under economic valuation regime (e.g. mortality improvements, policyholder options and behavior).
  • Drive the operating assumption setting based on experience and long-term view with the consideration of various financial metrics across earning and solvency basis, articulate the proposal to the stakeholders and handle auditors’ queries from regional office to obtain audit clearance.
  • Lead the transformation of the data analytics process (development of tools for more advanced predictive analysis, e.g. Alteryx, PowerBI, Python).
  • Participate in and organize various insurance risk advisory committees (Persistency / Claims) with the preparation of the insightful and meaningful analysis based on experience studies to steer the effective management of operating experience.
  • Supervise members within the team and provide ongoing coaching on actuarial / product / insurance knowledge
  • Collaborate with various industry groups and reinsurers to gather insights of the insurance experience.

Job Requirements:

  • University graduate majoring in Actuarial Science or equivalent subjects
  • Minimum 7 years of actuarial working experience.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent.
  • Experience in financial reporting and experience monitoring
  • Solid knowledge in life insurance industry, preferably with experience on in-force management.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Good interpersonal, communication, planning and management skills
  • Ability to lead and work independently under a fast-paced business environment and perform multiple tasks
  • Experience in coaching junior actuarial staff and managing a team
  • Fluency in English is essential
