Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Accounting & Reporting Analyst I based at our Americas Headquarters located in Greenville, North Carolina. This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. You will manage key financial processes, analyze data, and collaborate across departments to support organizational goals. 

  

What you will do: 

  • Accounting and Reporting: Record ledger entries, monitor balance sheet accounts, and prepare account reconciliations in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Identify and communicate large account variances and reconciling items to management. 

  • Reserve Models and Methodologies: Establish and maintain complex reserve models and deferred revenue methodologies, working with functional teams to ensure alignment with company practices. 

  • Quarterly and Annual Reporting: Prepare and analyze data for SEC filings and tax purposes. Compile departmental and location-specific data into comprehensive corporate reports, meeting established deadlines. 

  • Audit Support: Assist external and internal auditors by preparing documentation, roll forwards, variance analyses, and other necessary materials to ensure successful audit completion. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze financial data to identify improvement opportunities. Apply new accounting principles and authoritative literature (GAAP/SEC) to resolve open issues and enhance processes. 

  • Problem-Solving and Research: Investigate accounting and reporting challenges, providing accurate resolutions and effectively communicating findings to management.

What you will need: 

  • Four-year college degree with a major in Accounting or Finance.  

  • CPA, CMA, MSA or MBA preferred, but not required. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with preference for general ledger expertise. 

 

Skills, Experience & Abilities       

  • Accounting Expertise: Strong knowledge of advanced industry accounting standards, principles, and concepts (GAAP/SEC). 

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present clear financial information to senior leadership and internal/external stakeholders. 

  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with SAP is a plus. 

  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and apply findings to improve processes and resolve issues. 

  • Audit Support: Experience preparing detailed documentation and supporting materials for internal and external audits.
