What we're looking for:
Beam’s Accounting Team empowers the company by developing and implementing scalable accounting processes that facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting. As an Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in leading and improving accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and driving automation and efficiency in our processes. What you will do:
- Lead and oversee accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency
- Work cross-functionally with teams across the company to ensure financial processes align with business objectives
- Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with auditors and other third-part vendors
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to support the company’s growth and scalability
- Assist in financial statement preparation and ensure accurate reporting to stakeholders
- Partner with HR to support payroll processing and reconciliations, with knowledge of payroll tax implications being a valuable asset
- Demonstrate expertise in accounts payable and treasury functions to support cash flow management and vendor relationships
What skills will help you be successful:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; exposure to insurance accounting and reporting is a plus
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting operations or public accounting, with prior experience in a managerial role preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principlesFamiliarity with financial reporting systems (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, or SQL) is a plus
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and translate findings into actionable insightsExperience with process automation and ERP systems; proficiency in NetSuite is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to tell a clear and compelling financial story
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- A proactive mindset with the ability to challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvementIntegrity, empathy, and a commitment to collaboration

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors.
