About the Position:
We are seeking a well-rounded and highly skilled Accounting Manager who is proficient in technical accounting principles while also having a good working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and process automation. This role will also be managing the Accounts Payable function with one direct report. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of applying relevant accounting principles as well as the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can support the Senior Manager with the timely monthly close and conversely provide effective guidance and leadership to Accounts Payable, all while thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and will have 1 direct report.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
Within 30 Days You’ll:
- Progress through our Ramp Camp (ChowNow’s New Hire Onboarding Experience)
- Meet with the broader team, and establish relationships with your direct report. Begin regularly scheduled 1:1s.
- Work with Accounts Payable to develop an understanding of the Expense Reimbursement and Corporate Credit Card processes.
- Train under the Senior Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant to develop an understanding of the organization, revenue flow, and close process.
- Develop an understanding of complex reconciliations and journal entries after training, and complete your first pass as part of your first financial statement close.
Within 60 Days You’ll:
- Be able to technically operate in our Netsuite environment, and review and assist in managing the monthly close process.
- Begin to meet cross departmentally to better understand interplay on close, revenue sources, and financial statement impacts.
- Continue developing relationships with your immediate team, and suggest process improvements and plan for growth as necessary.
Within 90 Days You’ll:
- Present recommendations, both short term and long term, for optimizing reporting, integrations, and workflows
- Have empowered stakeholders across the organization to resolve the most common issues that arise
- Assist in the annual financial statement audit and tax return and compliance processes.
You Should Apply If:
- You have 5+ years of experience in technical accounting.
- You have 1+ years of direct people management experience
- You have advanced knowledge of the U.S. GAAP, particularly ASC 340, ASC 350, ASC 606, and ASC 842.
- You have experience using SQL to extract, analyze, and report financial data, develop dashboards, and automate reporting for better decision-making and efficiency.
- You have extensive experience working with NetSuite or similar cloud-based ERPs and creating custom reporting in a high transaction volume environment
- You have exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- You have the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
