Position Overview:As an Accounting Analyst I for Finning Canada, you will play an important role in performing a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards (IFRS). The successful candidate will be responsible to assist in day-to-day processing of transactions, reconcile GL and subledger accounts, post journal vouchers to support rapid and accurate period-end close. Additionally, this role is responsible for preparing internal and external auditor requests assigned by manager to ensure compliance of all relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices and is responsible for accurate timely recording of transactions.

· For this position, the expected salary range is between $50,000 and $65,000 annually. This range reflects our commitment to providing competitive compensation that aligns with industry standards and your qualifications.

Job Description:Major Job Functions:
Month-end close and Reconciliation:
- Track, maintain and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts. Prepare selected monthly/quarterly and ad-hoc journal vouchers with modest levels of complexity based on nature of accounts and/or dollar value
- Follow up of discrepancies and variances discovered on balance sheet and/or income statements with support from senior staff members/manager
- Ensure reconciling items are resolved timely
- Complete required month, quarter and year-end journal entries before cut-offs
Internal & External Audit:
- Complete internal & external audit requests on time and accurately
- Gather required data to complete internal and external auditor requests during quarter ends and year ends on time.
- Collaborate closely with the auditors to provide requested financial information and supporting documents in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned
Analysis and Project:
- Conduct analysis of data and provide support to the Senior staff members/manager by gathering data and developing spreadsheet reports
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis in support of reporting requirements
- Able to work well in a cross-functional team environment maintaining inter-departmental respect, sensitivity to all perspectives and information
- Able to thrive under pressure and are able to independently manage work priorities and follow through on meeting deadlines
- Modest level understanding of Finning business model
Education / Experience Guidance:
- Bachelor of Accounting/Finance
- Active pursuit of professional accounting designation (CPA) considered an asset
- 1-3 years of progressive finance and accounting related experience in an analytical role in Finance or Accounting
- Working knowledge of General Ledger and Chart of Account Structures
- Some extended hours of work maybe required from time to time

- Understanding of acceptable business practices, internal controls and policies within a large corporate environment is an asset

- Intermediate Excel Skills including ability to use lookups and pivot tables and utilize it to analyze financial data efficiently
