Summary:

The CCPN Staff Accountant assists the Director of Finance, Finance Accounting Manager and Vice President of Finance in all functions related to financial operations of CCPN. Primarily responsible for the monthly accounting for transactions, journal entries, financial statement, comparative reports, monthly account reconciliations, close process, and supporting schedules. Should be able to work independently and is expected to improve processes continually. Accuracy and timeliness are key attributes. Supports Finance Accounting Manager in analyzing accounts and responding to information requests from outside the department and maintaining working relationships with directors and other staff. Must interact with a professional attitude and appearance with all levels within the system. Responsible to Director of Finance and Accounting Manager for accuracy and completeness of work product. Assists with preparation of work papers for the independent auditors and other functions related to financial reporting at the system level. Maintains subsidiary ledgers, such as real estate operating expenses; prepares detailed and complete monthly reconciliations. Keeping abreast of current standards related to GAAP and accounting principles. Expected to grow within position and assume additional responsibilities as experience gained. Attends meetings as required. Assignments of ad hoc projects in addition to the normal monthly duties. Must be highly motivated and organized to meet all deadlines. The Staff Accountant, assists in all functions related to financial operations of assigned department and any related entities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar plus 1 year experience is required or equivalent work experience is required (Minimum of 5 years accounting experience).

  • Advanced computer spreadsheet proficiency including graphing and complex formulas often linking multiple worksheets (very high level of usage), general software literacy, trending, and "what if" skills required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Good presentation skills.
