We’re actively seeking a talented Accountant II to join our Enterprise Accounting Operations team in Newport Beach, CA.

As an Accountant II, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success participating in the financial close of Corporate PL and PL&A business units along with their affiliated subsidiaries. This encompasses performing thorough analyses of financial statements, conducting reconciliations, preparing entries, and reports essential for the financial closure. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of 8 people in the Corporate Accounting Operations division.
How you’ll help move us forward:

Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Establish and maintain relationships with customers and business partners.

Provide accurate and timely information to customers as requested.

Prepare and process journal entries for accruals and reclasses.

Assist in providing support for our internal and external auditors.

Support continuous improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and customer service.

Plan, perform, and implement initiatives to analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes and develop sustainable and quantifiable process improvements.

Develop metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for improvement opportunities.
The experience you bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle GL or similar) and Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$35.18 - $43.00
