Job Summary
The Account Manager has a direct impact on our business results. The person in this role is responsible for growing and maintaining profitable sales in existing accounts, and developing new, viable commercial leads. The primary markets for the Account Manager are retail frozen dessert, foodservice frozen dessert, cultured dairy and dry goods packaging. Responsibilities in this role will include working across multiple different customer types and packaging technologies. Examples of Huhtamaki product lines in these businesses include: Bulkan®, Ultrakan®, Convocan®, Nestyle®, Regal®, Revelle®.
The account manager is expected to have the commercial skills and experience to independently handle a multi-million-dollar book of business with a variety of national and international consumer goods brands.
Essential Functions

Executing world-class commercial processes to grow and maintain profitable business across a diverse customer base

Communicating with customers effectively (e.g., email, phone, tradeshows, in-person meetings) and driving a clear commercial agenda

Generating new business via market research, networking and industry contacts

Serving as a customer liaison to Huhtamaki corporate functions (e.g., marketing, manufacturing, graphics, equipment services & engineering, innovation).

Scoping, steering and executing on one or more strategic development in addition to day-to-day business and sales responsibilities

Owning his or her professional development agenda

Supporting the professional development of other team members
Job Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or other related field or equivalent experience
-
Proven Key Account Management experience (3-10+ years of sales experience), preferably in packaging or food processing space

Strong verbal and written communication skills for both customer-facing and internal communications
-
Leadership and time management skills to manage multiple competing priorities
-
Strong financial ability and acumen to understand margin and cost structures of products and financial returns

Strong data manipulation and presentation skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office)

Inherent motivation for reaching challenging profitable growth targets on assigned timelines

Ability for strategic and long-term structured thinking

Dependability and uncompromised business ethics as well as fiscal responsibility to manage within budgeted expense guidelines
Preferred
-
MBA or other financial or business degree
-
Direct experience in selling to multi-national Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies in frozen desserts or dry goods space
Environment

Travel expected 50% of the time (domestic)

Work within an office type setting most of each day with controlled climate conditions
