Job Summary:

This position is an exciting opportunity as a Personal Lines Account Executive in our Personal Lines Department. This individual will be working with our personal lines manager and will be responsible for new business and assisting the service team with existing accounts to provide professional service and coverage evaluation. We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual who enjoys closing new business to join our dynamic Personal Lines team.

This position is currently in-office with the potential to transition to a hybrid schedule in the future.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work internal leads, cross-sell, and referral opportunities from new and existing clients.
  • Establish relationships with new and existing customers to help improve retention and develop new sales opportunities.
  • Provide advice and counsel on personal lines matters to an assigned book of business.
  • Work with our Personal Lines Client Advisor and Account Managers to handle new business opportunities and existing clients looking for service.
  • Execute policy management by preparing insurance proposals, managing renewal process and addressing client’s inquiries about their policy coverage.
  • Sell personal lines insurance through various prospect contact touch points such as telephone and email.
  • Persuasive negotiation skills and highly effective listening and communication skills.
  • Maintain product knowledge for lines of business written.
  • Manage basic office administrative duties including handling client walk-ins.

Required Education and/or Experience

  • 3-5+ years of Personal Lines experience within independent agency setting
  • Must possess an active CT P&C license (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or the recognized equivalent of experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Applied Epic management system preferred
  • Prior use of PL Rater or similar personal lines comparative rater.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented with excellent verbal and communication skills
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude is necessary
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated
  • Strong sense of initiative with a proven ability to resolve complex issues
