Job Objective:
Responsible for implementation and management of the Pipeline Integrity program. Ensures that Hilcorp Alaska’s assets are managed in compliance with all regulations, codes, and standards applicable to Pipeline Integrity. Aligns programs and processes towards effective operation and production of Hilcorp Alaska assets.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides visible leadership and direction in the development of programs, policies, and procedures, both in the office and in the field.  Ensures the teams objectives are aligned with company vision, mission and values of Integrity, Ownership, Urgency, Alignment, and Innovation.
  • Regularly interacts with Asset Teams to understand impacts to operations, ensure the Pipeline Integrity programs and processes are in alignment, communicate key metrics and demonstrate value.
  • Ensures that the Pipeline Integrity organization structure provides the most efficient and effective support to the Asset Teams.
  • Provides oversight and management of Pipeline Integrity staff in the office and field.  Sets and communicates expectations, defines team goals and stretch goals, and holds team accountable for accomplishing goals.  Conducts employee performance evaluations and regularly holds 1:1 sessions to enhance employee performance.
  • Responsible for preparation of annual budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting for Pipeline Integrity and/or Compliance related activities.
  • Manages contracts with numerous service support contract companies.  Negotiates rates and resolves conflicts.  Provides feedback to contract companies on performance expectations.  
  • Participates in the Company’s efforts to interpret and comply with Federal, State, and Local regulations.  Actively engages with regulatory agencies and personnel in an advocacy role for the Company.  
  • Works across multiple teams to identify opportunities for common solutions or tools, and communicate/understand impacts to non-Integrity programs and processes.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.

Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years minimum experience in pipeline engineering and integrity, as applied to oil & gas operations.
  • Experience in Federal and State regulations related to Pipeline Integrity, preferred.
  • Experience with department and personnel management, preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, professional and solutions-oriented approach with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Knowledge of integrity inspection and NDE techniques.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex computer/information system’s information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Sharepoint.
  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year university or college in Engineering or a closely related field.
