The CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE) seeks an energetic and creative colleague to join our research team in the European Research Council (ERC) project: FIND – Finance and Innovation to couple Negative Emissions and Sustainable Development.
The ideal person for this role does not necessarily have experience in the field but is driven to learn, improve, and develop a coherent and ambitious outreach strategy to promote the project’s results to the academic and policy communities, industrial stakeholders, and civil society.
To this end, we are looking for 1 Junior Communication specialist capable of effectively liaising with multiple tools and stakeholders, including researchers and administrators. The candidate should also have a strong interest in applied macroeconomics, the economics of decarbonization, and the political economy of finance, which are the main topics of the FIND project.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate is expected to work closely with our project team and report directly to the project’s Principal Investigator and project manager.
Possible tasks include but are not limited to:
- Develop, schedule, and publish all research-related content across multiple social media platforms.
- Write press releases and web news about the project research in collaboration with the research and administrative teams.
- Produce and edit content regarding the project research.
- Support researchers in planning communication activities.
- Editing and managing all the content published on the project website and related social media
- Share regular updates and report on content performance.
The job location is Milan, Italy.
REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for a motivated person with the following requirements:
- Master’s degree in economics, economic policy
- Familiarity with WordPress and social media platforms (e.i. LinkedIn, X, etc)
- Fluency in English
- Good presentation and writing skills.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and diverse environment committed to high-quality research.
Desirable: PhD Student in the fields of macroeconomics, financialization, macro-finance, financial history, the political economy of finance, the economics of climate change, and carbon removal.
DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- The appointment period will be initially 12 months.
- The gross salary will be based on qualifications, working experience, and competitive with major European research centers.

Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.

What We Do
The Foundation Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change (CMCC) is a research centre on climate science and policy.
The CMCC:
- Integrates all studies on climate change and adaptation/mitigation policies
- Promotes collaboration and synergy with international organisations, policy makers, and industry
- Provides technical-scientific support to the institutions involved in the negotiation and international cooperation activities.
CMCC produces thorough studies regarding climate variability, causes, and consequences, through the development of high-resolution simulations based on global models of Earth systems and regional models, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean area.
CMCC's research assures the maintenance of highly reliable products and instruments, which are made available to the scientific community and to further studies on climate science and climate change impacts.
