Thales in the Czech Republic employs over 400 people from 45 different nationalities. A total of 15 teams work on projects for government agencies, banking, mobile services and the Internet Of Things (IoT) technology. As a Work Package Manager in the Identity & Biometrics Systems R&D you will contribute to fulfilling the marketing vision of governmental services based on secure electronic documents and electronic identity. You will be exposed to ecosystem with digital identity management, secure documents (passports, ID cards), mobile handset devices, cryptography, online transactions. You will learn which principles are making the modern Digital Identity a reality.
Your role is to enhance and effectively communicate the value delivered by the development team.
Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between the product technical solutions and external stakeholders in Engineering and project managers, ensuring effective alignment.
Our solution is focused mainly on issuance and verification of digital documents, reading of physical documents and other mechanisms of proving identities. We rely on Thales experience with digital security and bring it to mobile world.
YOUR PROFILE
To succeed in this job, you must have:
- You graduated with a Master of Engineering or Computer Science or in University, and you have significant experience in your field of expertise
- At least 3 years of experience working as software developer in an Agile team.
- Strong background in managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder interactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate challenges and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including Agile
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
- Understanding of software development processes and technical solutions.
- Familiarity with product management principles and business analysis.
- Excellent English communication skills
- You are recognized as a team-player and enjoy collaborative work.
Previous knowledge or work experience in any of the following points will be valued:
- Project and/or product management.
- Certification in Agile methodologies, i.e PMI-ACP
- Familiarity with Digital Identity management, Identity issuance and Software Security.
A week in the life of a Thales Product Work Package Manager for Digital Id:
- You are part of a cross-functional project team, collaborating closely with the Product team to ensure that your work package delivers maximum value in alignment with the product vision.
- You provide input to update and communicate the Work Package Release Plan, ensuring it aligns with the Product Roadmap maintained by the Product Manager and reflects the latest priorities.
- You engage with stakeholders to gather requirements in case of gaps during project follow up meetings, to communicate them to the Product Manager and PO for product decisions and backlog prioritizations.
- You actively participate in planning sessions for upcoming work phases, to establish achievable timelines.
- You utilize the engineering dashboard to monitor progress, track key performance indicators, and visualize the status of your work package, facilitating informed decision-making.
- You identify, assess, and manage risks associated with the work package together with the technical team, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on project timelines and deliverables.
- You facilitate discussions during SteerCos reviews, sharing the product status and ensuring that the objectives for the work package are communicated effectively and understood by the teams.
