WinField United Agronomy Intern

Currently we are hiring for an:
Agronomy Intern
The successful candidate will work closely with the Local Account Managers in Western Ontario as well as the Regional Business Lead for Eastern Canada.
The position will start in April when the successful candidate has completed exams. This position is flexible, and we have options of a 4-month, 8-month or 12-month work terms.
Primary duties will include:
- Working closely with the Regional Business Lead in executing the field demonstration site at Canada’s outdoor farm show near Woodstock, ON.
- Working with the Account Managers to build and grow retail partner relationships at key locations by supporting product demonstrations and field evaluations.
- Assisting partners in driving CROPLAN and WinField United proprietary product awareness and sales through tours and meetings.
- Playing a key organizational role for major customer events, including but not limited to Outdoor Farm Show and various CROPLAN field trials.
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled in post-secondary education, preference given to candidates in Agriculture with various courses in Agronomy, crop science, soil science etc.
- Past work experience as a summer intern in the Ag industry is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Physical demands of the job include:
- Daily travel, extended hours and the occasional overnight travel as required.
- Environment - farm machinery can be loud, fields are dusty and dirty, and weather conditions can vary from hot and humid to cold and wet.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs in bags.
- Ability to climb on and off farm machinery.
- Ability to walk and work in field plots.
