Essity IT Infrastructure Services, which is part of the organization Global Operational Services, has a vacancy within the Windows Hosting team as Windows Vmware Systems Engineer with a focus on Backup. About The Role
As a Windows Engineer, the successful candidate will join a team of 9 people in a multicultural environment. The primary responsibility of the role will be to manage and maintain the organization's 3000 Windows servers. The Windows Engineer will work closely with the team to ensure that all servers are up-to-date, secure, and performing optimally. The virtualization layer for these servers is VMware, so experience with this technology will be essential.
The role will require the Windows Engineer to troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS. They will also need to be comfortable working with PowerShell scripts and other automation tools to streamline server management tasks. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, as the Windows Engineer will need to work closely with other teams and stakeholders.
Finally, the successful candidate will need to be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently while still being a team player.
What You Will Do

Manage the SCOM infrastructure, including both our custom management packs and third-party packs like Opslogix. Develop new management packs to enhance application monitoring.

Utilize PowerShell scripts and automation tools to optimize server management tasks and minimize manual efforts.

Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization,

Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, keeping track of multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously,

Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices, making recommendations for improvements and upgrades,

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Required Education and Experience

High knowledge on the Microsoft Server administration (some certifications will be a plus),

High knowledge on the VMware administration (some certifications will be a plus),

Knowledge on the System Center Operation Manager (SCOM),

Good experience on the HPE hardware administration,

Some years of experience in IT infrastructure or equivalent studies in this area. However, for this position we like to encourage and welcome all applicants no matter length of previous experiences.
