About The Role
As the Wi-Fi Architect you will play a pivotal role in crafting and overseeing our network infrastructure, ensuring robust and efficient WLAN connectivity. This role involves a deep understanding of Wi-Fi network design principles and the ability to implement scalable, secure, and resilient solutions. Responsibilities include configuring and managing wireless access points, controllers, and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. The architect must also stay abreast of the latest technologies to enhance the infrastructure's performance, security, and reliability, meeting current and future organisational demands. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to align network strategies with business objectives, ensuring optimal network performance and user satisfaction.
What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define Boldyn Wi-Fi architectures used across the agreed OEMs for the Boldyn enabled venues. This will include the upkeep of these architectures as the Technical Design Authority (TDA).
  • Define how Boldyn Wi-Fi supports customer connectivity needs such as Guest Wi-Fi, consumer broadband, operation telecoms, IoT services, etc.
  • Implement stringent WLAN network security protocols and policies to safeguard against unauthorised access and cyber threats, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data.
  • Regularly assess and WLAN network capacity needs to anticipate organisational growth, ensuring scalability to support an increasing number of users and devices.
  • Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including detailed diagrams, configuration settings, and policy guidelines, to support network management and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring that the Wi-Fi network infrastructure is compliant and follows best practices.
  • Utilise advanced network monitoring tools to gather data, analyse network trends, and generate reports, enabling proactive management of network performance and security.
     

What You’ll Bring

  • Good overall knowledge and familiarity with telecommunications technologies, including Ethernet, Bluetooth, Zigbee, 3GPP, as well as current IP communication protocols.
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of Wi-Fi standards.
  • SME understanding of Wi-Fi and Antenna Design is essential.
  • Use of Ekahau, IBWave or other Wi-Fi projection tools for survey and customer requirement processes.
  • Aruba Central, Ruckus One or other Cloud based Wi-Fi provisioning tools.
