Job Summary
Provide leadership and expertise in the Huhtamaki CI Process to meet annual financial goals. Working with all levels of management and employees, within and outside the LA facility, CI Leaders conduct improvement projects within their business units.
Essential Functions
- Supports CI by acting as a ‘change agent’.
- Assists in identifying CI opportunities.
- Defines scope and financial justification for projects.
- Reports project status and results and documents all project activities.
- Identifies, trains, and develops CI team members.
- Leads and trains teams to execute Huhtamaki’s World Class Operations program, which includes our 12-step Total Productive Management – Project Kaizen Engineer (TPM PKE), Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Production Control System (PCS) pillars.
- Leads and trains teams to execute assigned Six Sigma black belt and green belt projects and Lean events that include Quality and Kanban, SUR’s and TPM’s using Huhtamaki CI methodology.
- Expert in the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools, ensuring tools are used appropriately by team members.
- Identifies and assists in removal of barriers to projects.
- Ensures 2-way open communication throughout the organization for the CI process.
Job Qualifications
Required
- Six Sigma and/or Total Productive Management education or experience.
- Prior use of statistical tools/methodologies, computers, quality methods, and basic financial principles.
- Ability to manage change.
- Experience in leading teams.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management.
- Ability to focus on understanding and exceeding expectations of the customer.
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict to reach consensus and common goals.
Preferred
- Technical Degree.
- Certified 6 Sigma Black Belt.
- Minimum 5-years of industrial experience, including 2+ years in a leadership position.
Environment
- Works in an office with normal office noise levels.
- Will spend 50 - 75% of time on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels which will require the use of personal protective equipment including but not limited to hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
