Huhtamaki has an immediate opening for a World Class Operations Manager in our Fulton, New York location. We are looking for someone with demonstrated successful project management experience with a 4-year degree or higher and with a minimum of 3 years Industrial experience including 1 years’ experience leading teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The World Class Operations Manager provides the leadership and expertise needed in the Huhtamaki World Class Operations process within the organization. As part of the local Senior Management team, this position will conduct improvement projects within the business groups, plants, business units, or Corporate functions. The World Class Operations Manager will develop partnerships with operations management to identify opportunities through LEAN and Six Sigma techniques while focusing on People-Process-Data to obtain measurable and sustainable results. They will define the scope and financial justification of projects. Report project status and results, including documenting all project activities, financial benefits, and approvals; Identify and develop Continuous Improvement team members; Support “Green Belts” and line Management in their World Class Operations activities; Ensure 2-way open communication throughout the organization for strategy and projects related to World Class Operations. Facilitate Kaizen events that effectively build, lead, and empower teams. The World Class Operations Manager will manage process development projects as directed and would interact with local community organizations to support public outreach, recruiting opportunities, Company exposure to our neighbors in the City, County, and State.

Wage Rate: $90,000+ depending on related experience

Requirements:

The qualified candidate would hold a bachelor’s degree with an advanced degree preferred. They would have a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience, including 1-year experience leading teams. Demonstrated knowledge of successful use of Six Sigma tools and methodology. Experience in the use of statistical tools/methodologies, computers, quality methods, and basic financial principles. Experience with OSIsoft PI Platforms, Minitab, Python or Visual Basic/Applications (VBA) a plus. Experience in recruiting, leading, and developing a team. Must have strong communication skills at all levels in the organization and strong conflict resolution skills to reach consensus and common goals.

 The ability to sit, stand, walk for long periods of time within an office type work environment; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to enter and work within the entire facility- production and maintenance areas; exposure to high and moderately low ambient temperatures at times; strong communication skills both verbal and non-verbal required; good hearing skills; strong computer skills with Word, Excel, Power Point a plus; ability to work on any shift including weekends when needs; some traveling required.
