Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Workplace Technology leader to join our Technology Team and play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our technology infrastructure. This position serves as a technical expert and escalation point for complex workplace technology challenges, requiring both depth and breadth of technical knowledge across multiple platforms and systems. The ideal candidate must demonstrate advanced troubleshooting capabilities with strategic thinking to not only resolve complex issues but also contribute to the continuous improvement of our workplace technology ecosystem.

As our Workplace Technology Lead, you will be instrumental in ensuring the stability and optimisation of our critical systems while also identifying opportunities for technological advancement. This role requires someone who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, has a passion for technology innovation, and can effectively collaborate with various business units. You will have the opportunity to influence our technology direction and implement solutions that enhance the daily work experience of all employees across the organisation.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Security Management

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of office infrastructure and workplace technologies
  • Architect and manage Zero Trust Network infrastructure and security protocols
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect company assets and data

Service Management & Support

  • Provide advanced technical support for complex workplace technology issues
  • Manage and optimise service desk operations and support workflows
  • Support equipment deployment and configuration for employee onboarding
  • Deliver end-user support for critical issues and escalations
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base

Technology Innovation & Automation

  • Design and implement automation solutions to streamline IT operations
  • Develop scripts and tools using various technologies to enhance efficiency
  • Evaluate and propose new technologies to improve workplace productivity
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for new workplace technologies
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices

Systems & Operations

  • Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring systems for endpoint devices and user experience
  • Design and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for corporate devices across multiple platforms
  • Oversee endpoint security and management for company-owned and BYOD devices
  • Deploy and maintain end-user applications and productivity tools
  • Ensure optimal performance and reliability of end-user computing systems
  • Lead technical projects focused on improving end-user experience and productivity

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Ensure effective communication at all levels from end-users to executive leadership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across all business areas
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for workplace technology initiatives and issues
  • Establish and manage strategic relationships with technology vendors and service providers
  • Provide clear and timely updates during change implementations and critical incidents
  • Effectively translate technical concepts to business stakeholders
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, licenses, and agreements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in IT Support/Systems Administration roles
  • Proven experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms and implementation
  • Knowledge of macOS administration and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated expertise in desktop support and troubleshooting
  • Experience with SaaS platforms including Google Workspace, Slack, and Jira
  • Practical experience with asset management and lifecycle planning
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and handle escalations
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work independently and in teams
  • Proactive and self-motivated with ability to work under pressure

Advantageous Experience

  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code principles and tools
  • Linux systems administration experience
  • Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools
  • Experience with modern workplace technology solutions
