About the Role
 

WP Engine is looking for a dynamic Vice President of Brand Sales (VP of Sales) who will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s sales strategy to drive predictable revenue growth, expand market share, and ensure the achievement of sales objectives. This role involves overseeing the sales team, implementing strategic initiatives, building strong customer relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals. WP Engine is a leading managed hosting provider in the WordPress space, and we’re continuing to expand our market share across Brand organizations in SMB, Mid Market and Enterprise clients. The VP of Brand Sales will play a pivotal role in amplifying our results across our North America acquisition and account management teams. You’ll have the opportunity to lead, support and coach our sales teams in closing deals and forging long-term relationships with clients.


The Day-to-Day

  • Sales Leadership
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s overall goals.

    • Identify new segments and market opportunities and create plans to penetrate these markets.

    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust strategies proactively.

    • Coach and mentor sales leaders and sales reps to help improve their performance, achieve sales goals, and develop professionally. 

    • Hire and retain top talent while continuing to mentor and grow the existing sales organization

    • Lead the sales organization through change initiatives by driving smooth adoption of new tools, processes, and strategies, while aligning these changes with broader company objectives to achieve organizational goals
       

  • Pipeline Optimization and Forecasting
    • Develop and execute comprehensive pipeline management strategies to ensure consistent and predictable revenue growth.

    • Monitor pipeline stages, ensuring optimal lead progression from initial engagement to closing.

    • Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve pipeline velocity.

    • Partner with sales teams to ensure effective qualification processes and accurate forecasting of deal closures.

    • Define and enforce pipeline hygiene standards, including data accuracy and timely updates.

    • Develop strategies, in conjunction with Rev Ops,  to track and report on how sales initiatives directly contribute to sales pipeline growth, new business acquisition, and client retention and react accordingly.
       

  • Executive Leadership 
    • Serve as a key partner to the SVP, NA Sales & Partnerships and other senior leaders in driving company-wide sales goals through brand consistency and alignment.
       

  • Sales Strategy for Sales Enablement
    • Collaborate with Sales Enablement and Customer Success leadership to create materials and resources that empower the sales team to effectively communicate WP Engine’s value proposition.
       

  • Sales Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with the sales teams to ensure that our messaging and approach is consistent and compelling during customer interactions, from prospecting to closing.
       

  • Customer Insights & Relationships
    • Use customer insights to shape our strategy and act as an executive sponsor with key accounts to help drive customer loyalty.
       

Your Skills and Expertise

  • 12+ Years of Sales Leadership: Extensive experience leading large sales teams (2nd and 3rd line management) in SaaS, tech, or enterprise software environments.

  • Sales Strategy: Demonstrated success in aligning sales strategies with sales processes, driving revenue and market share growth.

  • Strategic Sales & Business Acumen: A deep understanding of sales cycles, complex deals, and customer acquisition strategies. Understanding of Sandler and MEDDIC is an advantage. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and message consistency as well as working together towards common goals.

  • Customer Insight Expertise: Expertise in understanding customer needs and using insights to develop tailored strategies that resonate with different market segments.

  • Leadership & Coaching: Strong leadership skills with experience developing and mentoring sales leaders and sales teams to drive high performance. 

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to assess performance through sales data, making adjustments to strategies as needed.

  • Sales Enablement Experience: Deep understanding of sales enablement tools (SFDC, Gong and Salesloft) and resources, with a focus on ensuring they are maximised to enhance the sales team’s effectiveness.

  • Proven Track Record of Success: History of achieving measurable sales targets and goals while simultaneously maintaining a positive sales culture.

On Target Earnings (OTE)

$400,000.00


We believe that compensation should be reflective of the impact you have within the organization relative to the market value of your role. The cash compensation package above includes base pay plus on-target commission for employees in eligible roles. Sales incentive plans are uncapped with significant earning potential.
