Position Summary:

The VP of Production will play a pivotal role in leading the production team to ensure the seamless execution of SKIMS’ product lines from development to delivery. This senior leader will be responsible for overseeing production planning, manufacturing processes, sourcing, vendor relationships, and quality control. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in apparel production, possess strong leadership skills, and can drive efficiency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Production Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement production strategies that align with SKIMS’ business goals and seasonal product launches, ensuring on-time, cost-effective, and high-quality production.

Vendor & Supplier Management: Oversee the sourcing and management of external manufacturing partners. Negotiate contracts and terms, manage relationships, and ensure adherence to SKIMS’ quality and sustainability standards.

Operational Efficiency: Streamline production processes to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and optimize costs while maintaining product quality and brand standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, product development, technical design, sourcing, and merchandising teams to ensure a smooth transition from concept to production, while meeting financial targets.

Production Calendar: Lead the creation and management of the production calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met from sourcing to final delivery.

Quality Control: Ensure the highest quality standards are met across all product lines, implementing strict quality control measures at every stage of production.

Cost Management: Oversee the production budget, focusing on cost-effective solutions while maintaining product integrity and adhering to margin goals.

Risk Management: Anticipate potential production issues, including delays or quality concerns, and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure seamless execution.

Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Sustainability Initiatives: Champion sustainable practices within production processes, driving eco-conscious decisions in sourcing, manufacturing, and packaging.

Continuous Improvement: Analyze production performance data and implement ongoing improvements to processes, materials, and supplier relationships.

 

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in production management, Supply Chain, Apparel Merchandising, or a related field.

10+ years of production management experience in the apparel industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Proven track record of managing end-to-end production in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Extensive experience in sourcing, vendor management, and working with global manufacturing partners.

Strong knowledge of apparel construction, fabrications, and production processes.

Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve production goals.

High-level problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions under pressure.

Proficiency in production management software (e.g., PLM systems) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Passion for sustainability and eco-conscious production practices is a plus.
