Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic VP of Product to join one of Banyan Software's portfolio companies. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the CTO, this role requires a visionary product leader with the ability to balance technical challenges, product innovation, and process optimization. The VP of Product will be instrumental in shaping and executing the product strategy, addressing significant technical debt in a Delphi-based, application-focused product, and overseeing the evolution of our product ecosystem. This position is ideal for a seasoned leader with a proven track record in both mobile and non-web application development, as well as implementing effective product management processes.

Responsibilities

- Product Strategy and Vision: Define, communicate, and implement a product vision that aligns with our company’s goals, balancing the need for innovation in new products with the demands of addressing technical debt.

- Technical Debt Management: Collaborate closely with engineering leadership to create a roadmap for reducing technical debt in our Delphi-based, non-web application. Prioritize and plan upgrades, refactoring, and improvements to ensure stability, scalability, and maintainability.

- Process Implementation and Optimization: Establish and standardize product management processes, ensuring effective communication, prioritization, and product lifecycle management across teams. Introduce best practices for product development that streamline workflows, improve cross-functional alignment, and enhance speed to market.

- Product Development Leadership: Oversee the product roadmap for both existing and new products, balancing the need for incremental improvements to the existing product with the development of new, high-impact mobile and desktop applications.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between product, engineering, design, and other departments, ensuring a collaborative and efficient approach to product development. Engage with stakeholders across the company to ensure alignment on product priorities and communicate product plans clearly.

- Market and User Insights: Conduct market research, user testing, and gather feedback to ensure our product strategies align with customer needs and industry trends. Make data-driven decisions that drive product adoption and satisfaction.

- Performance Measurement and Iteration: Define key metrics for product success, and establish reporting processes to track product performance. Leverage data and analytics to guide ongoing improvements and to refine our approach to technical debt reduction.

- Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing product team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and customer focus. Encourage continuous learning and development of team members.


Qualifications

 - Experience: 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior product leadership role. Proven experience managing both mobile products and application-based (non-web) products.

 - Technical Knowledge: Understanding of the unique challenges associated with non-web applications and technical debt in a legacy codebase.

 - Process-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective product management processes that support cross-functional collaboration and efficient product development.

- Technical Debt Management: Experience overseeing initiatives that reduce technical debt, refactor code, and improve product performance and stability.

- Leadership and Team Building: Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead product teams, and collaborate effectively across departments to achieve strategic goals.
