The Vice President of Product Management is responsible for leading a product management team and driving our Finance Platform vision, strategy, and roadmap execution. Additionally, they will be responsible for day to day operations of the platform. This individual assumes and ownership/GM mindset and drives cross-functional tasks across Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations and others to execute the product management lifecycle from Vision to EOL.  The role involves leading with a business mind set, high-level decision-making, a systems thinking approach, team leadership, and close interaction with customers, stakeholders, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform Strategy & Vision:
    • Define and communicate the overall platform vision and strategy aligned with company goals.
    • Develop product roadmaps and ensure they align with market trends, customer needs, and business objectives.
    • Identify new opportunities for platform innovation and revenue growth, leveraging customer feedback and market research.
  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product managers, and operations personnel ensuring they are aligned with the platform vision and objectives.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment, encouraging creativity and strategic thinking within the team.
    • Set goals, KPIs, and performance standards for the platform team and ensure timely delivery of platform initiatives.
    • Lead a cross-functional team focused on execution of the platform plan and revenue attainment.
  • Platform Development & Execution:
    • Sets operating priorities and resource allocations across products and development project types (major/minor enhancements/product support)
    • Collaborate closely with engineering and design, to ensure platform requirements are effectively developed, launched, and optimized.
    • Oversee the entire platform lifecycle, from ideation to launch, with a focus on continuous improvement, optimization and revenue generation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Act as the primary point of contact between the platform team and key stakeholders, including senior management, functional stake holders, customers, and business partners.
    • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on platform progress, challenges, and opportunities.
    • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to define platfomr positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, and market conditions and adjust the strategy accordingly.
    • Conduct customer research and feedback analysis to ensure the platform meets evolving market and customer needs and expectations.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Utilize data and analytics to inform decisions, measure performance, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Define metrics to track performance, customer satisfaction, and ROI, and use these insights to drive strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field (MBA preferred). MBA is a plus for this role. 
  • 8 -10+ years of product management experience , with 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • 5+ years of experience in in a SaaS FinTech environment with direct experience shaping and leading a product vision and execution of a financial platform, engine and/or payment platform with global reach
  • Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements in building SaaS products in the financial services and FinTech space
  • Proven track record of developing, evangelizing, and executing ‘winning’ product strategies and roadmaps with quantifiable results over a meaningful time horizon for SaaS platforms (fintech platforms a plus)
  • Understanding of the financial “rails” and how to deliver products that manage the flow of financial transactions
  • Proven track record of successfully building, scaling and leading product teams and delivering high-impact products to market.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes and agile methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong P &L management experience and ability to translate financial metrics into clear operational actions
