The Team You Will Join
The Financial Operations (FinOps) team an integral part of the Controls Analysis & Reporting (CAR) organization, primarily based in Tampa Florida. FinOps is responsible for facilitating MetLife's financial reporting and analysis functions globally and sets strategic direction for, and support of, all of MetLife's core financial applications. This role will be expected to help lead a multi-year journey to migrate our on-premise financial applications to the cloud with a goal to drive standardization, automation, and efficiencies across Finance. The program will consist of a minimum of 15 concurrent workstreams at any given time and will impact all inputs and outputs of our existing PeopleSoft ERP environment.
The Opportunity
MetLife is seeking an experienced and dynamic Program Manager to oversee a large multi-year ERP implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of this critical initiative, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong leader with a proven track record in managing large-scale ERP projects, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
The individual will oversee a global team of associates who collaborate with regional CFOs, Controllers, and functional area teams to execute required projects. Close coordination with partners in Global Tech and Operations, as well as various finance departments and senior company executives, will be essential to ensure the successful completion of all projects.
How You'll Help Us Build a Confident Future:

  • Lead the comprehensive program management of the ERP implementation, from initiation to completion.
  • Coordinate teams across various regions to ensure consistent execution of program activities.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed program roadmap, outlining timelines, milestones, and key deliverables across multiple regions and workstreams.
  • Establish clear communication channels between global teams and provide regular updates to senior leadership on program status, risks, and outcomes.
  • Ensure the program is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including finance, IT, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for the project.
  • Engage with external vendors and consultants to ensure the successful delivery of project components.
  • Proactively identify global and regional risks that could impact the program and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate regular program meetings and communication with project teams.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure that it is complete, current, and properly stored.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve program processes and methodologies.


What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications):

  • 10+ years of experience, preferably within Finance in a global organization
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA or other advanced degree also preferred.
  • Recognized project management qualification preferred (PMP - Project Management Professional, ACP - Agile Certified Professional)
  • Strong project management skills with experience of running large scale projects.
  • Proven leadership experience, including direct and influence leadership of diverse teams across a highly matrixed organization.
  • Passion and drive for continuous improvement, transformational change, with a business owner mentality.
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes and gain team member and stakeholder buy-in
  • Cultural awareness with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Critical thinker and highly analytical with ability to solve complex problems that include the application of both good business sense and common sense.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to interpret data and synthesize complex issues to identify best solutions.


What Will Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

  • Prior experience managing a large scale on-premise ERP to a cloud solution.
  • Experience with a similar implementation at a large financial institution .
