We’re looking for a Vice Preside of Financial Planning and Analysis at an exciting time - we’ve successfully launched multiple platforms and products, raised over $60m in VC funding, reached profitability, and have a growth trajectory of over 300% for 2024.

WHAT YOU WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED IN

As a Head/VP of FP&A, reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead the delivery of a world-class business partnering, financial planning, financial analysis, and strategic support service to our business.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will provide a financial voice to assist commercial decision making and challenge thinking, as well as being involved in fundraising, M&A, and investment appraisal.

The VP of FP&A will play a pivotal role in the development of the company, providing commercial and strategic insight and guidance to drive our company's growth and profitability.

As a scaleup business, you can expect your role to develop over time. Here are some of the types of things you will be getting involved in:

Business Partnering

  • Creating an environment whereby the finance team are seen as respected, valued team players, are proactively asked for input and opinion from non-finance stakeholders, yet providing the necessary level of challenge and control within the business.
  • Partnering with the US leadership team and market managers, ensuring financial ownership and disciplines are instilled across the business, and that financial considerations are central to decision making.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders by providing financial input to drive business improvement.

Planning & Forecasting

  • Leading the company planning cycle, including the long range planning process, annual plan and monthly/quarterly forecasts
  • Collaborating with sales and operations teams to create robust forecasts with clarity on drivers of performance and risks and opportunities to that forecast

Reporting and Delivering Insight

  • Monthly reporting ownership: Managing monthly P&L reports, actuals v plan analysis, KPI tracking, management packs, in-depth analysis of business trends and emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Providing insightful financial analysis to stakeholders, and working with them to deliver actions that drive performance and financial improvement.
  • Preparing analysis, commentary, and presentations for quarterly Board packs and any other reporting requirements for the Board.

Financial Modeling

  • Building financial models, to include scenario and sensitivity analysis, to support decision making.

Finance Team Leadership

  • Contributing to the development of a world class finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Mentoring and developing team members, providing growth opportunities and feedback.

Projects

  • Leading on the due diligence process and data room management during capital raising events
  • Playing a leading role in the development of the finance tech stack, including the introduction of a new ERP system
  • Leading on the evaluation of capital allocation and investment proposals, to include new markets, new products, and M&A activity.
  • Driving the successful and timely completion of ad-hoc projects as they arise.

THE TOP 5 THINGS WE WANT YOU TO ACHIEVE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR ARE

  • This role, and the wider finance team where applicable, are proactively invited to a seat at the table where their input is valued by non-finance decision makers, enabled by being able to provide valuable opinion and insight that positively impacts the conversation.
  • Financial ownership is prevalent throughout the business, including P&L and balance sheet accountability, and forecast/plan ownership. Financial considerations, including return on investment and working capital requirements, are central to all decision making.
  • The creation of a reporting suite that delivers performance insight to the leadership team, and working alongside the team to drive the business forwards based on those insights.
  • Contributed towards the successful implementation of our capital strategy, including a Series C fundraise, by working closely with prospective investors/lenders to ensure an effective due diligence process.
  • Played a pivotal role in the ERP implementation project, ensuring the system is implemented with minimal disruption to the business.

  • Deep understanding of financial analysis and reporting, key business metrics, forecasting, planning, and modeling.

  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency with financial software and tools, including Excel, ERP systems, and business intelligence platforms

HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU:

We keep our interview process short and sweet, and we’re a nimble team that can progress at pace. Here are the stages you can expect, but we might switch up the order of each step depending on team availability:

  1. Introductory call/interview with Sam, our Senior Talent Partner. The call is via telephone and will last around 30 minutes.
  2. Should it feel like there is an initial fit for all, we will invite you to a video call with the hiring manager for around 45 minutes. This is a more structured interview that will deep-dive into the role and technical needs.
  3. All of our roles will have a small assessment stage. This might be in person, a take-home assessment, or further video calls. Length varies, but we’re mindful of your time and try to keep it as simple as possible.
  4. Meet the founders and/or other team members. Again, length varies depending on how many people and whether in person or via video call.
