This is a full-time position based in our Denver, CO office. (We have a hybrid work model in place that allows employees to split their time between working in-office and from home a few days a week.)

Compensation: 

We are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including skills, qualifications, and professional experience, which can cause your compensation to vary.

This role has an annual targeted base salary range of $240,000 - $270,000, an annual 25% performance bonus target, and participation in Homebot’s Equity Appreciation Program.

Responsibilities:

You will be the highest level engineering leader (no CTO), responsible for managing and growing our Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Trust (Security & Privacy) Team.

  • Work with our talented leaders to drive technical vision and architecture across our apps, APIs, data pipelines, AI/ML stacks
  • Scale high-performing, fast-moving, successful engineering teams, fostering growth, skills, and happiness
  • Grow, mentor, and manage technical leaders, ensuring their success
  • Act as a solutions architect for the team when necessary, solving challenging cross-team problems
  • Maintain products and systems of high technical integrity, ensuring quality, scale, uptime, and security
  • Work hand in hand with Product to create and achieve ambitious goals with the teams
  • Manage engineering operations, budgets, and resources
  • Act as a cultural carrier for the company and effectively manage through change
  • Collaborate across the company to design solutions, ensuring all stakeholders are accounted for

Requirements:

You’re at the top of your game, you haven’t grown too far away from code, you dive deep when needed, and love fueling talented teams.

  • Experience leading engineering at high-growth companies
  • Strong technical background in different architectures (microservices, monoliths, AI/ML, data pipelines)
  • Experience in modern frameworks and technologies, such as React / Next.js, Ruby on Rails, data warehouses (such as Snowflake), data pipelines (such as Airflow, Dagster, Hightouch, etc.), machine learning, Kubernetes, Postgres, and more
  • Track record scaling teams and developing leaders and individuals
  • Excellence in system design and technical problem-solving
  • Proven ability to balance technical excellence with business impact
  • Track record of running highly successful, performant teams
  • Strong product instincts and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Insatiable desire to do huge things with amazing people

Who You’ll Collaborate With:

  • You will work closely with Product, Sales, Operations
  • You will be joining a solid product and engineering organization of around 50 people

Bonus Points: 

  • You are familiar with Real Estate and/or Mortgage Lending and the different stakeholders involved with homeownership
