Overview: 

Fortune Media is seeking a forward-thinking Vice President of Technology (VP) to lead our technology team and shape and drive our technology strategy. Reporting to the CPO, this person will play a pivotal role in defining and executing our product and technology roadmap, ensuring technology operations and software development processes align with our business and company goals. In partnership with the product and data analytics organizations, the VP and their team will be responsible for building and improving all our digital product experiences. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Transform the technology organization to align with the strategic growth and business objectives of the company.  
  • Build, manage and nurture a high-performance team based on a culture of transparency, accountability, and collaboration. 
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of a scalable and secure technology infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and security.  
  • Establish, monitor, and improve key technology quality and process health metrics e.g. incident response rates, release velocity, estimate accuracy rates and bug/QA measurements. 
  • Collaborate closely with the editorial and business teams to deliver cutting-edge digital products that engage audiences and meet business goals. Ensure high quality, efficient project delivery and technical operations. 
  • Manage relationships with third-party technology vendors and service providers to leverage the best solutions for Fortune’s needs. 

Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of technology management experience in the digital media, technology, or related industries, with at least 8 years in a senior or executive role managing both managers and individual contributor engineers. 
  • Change management experience, preferably during organizational inflection points. 
  • Highly versed in best practices with respect to agile software development, data measurement, and analytics. 
  • Proven track record of launching and scaling successful digital media/content, technology, and SEO-driven products. 
  • Deep understanding of the digital media landscape, best practices and emerging technologies. 
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
  • Willingness and interest in rolling up one’s sleeves when appropriate. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment. 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or an analytical field is preferred. An advanced degree is also preferred.

Total Compensation Range (base salary & bonus): $250,000.00 - $300,000.00 base salary + 10-20% discretionary annual bonus
