Overview

At Grata, we are looking for an experienced VP of Engineering with strong technical and managerial experience. We are looking for someone who has led multiple engineering teams and is excited about building a cutting edge platform for private market dealmaking. With strong engineering leadership, great system designs and product vision, they will accelerate Grata and drive product growth.

About the Role:

  • Drive technical strategy, team design, and product delivery
  • Drive operational excellence by establishing clear metrics and efficient lightweight processes 
  • Prioritize and balance short and long term engineering investments
  • Build, onboard and up-skill top engineers and managers
  • Create compelling personalized career paths for engineers on the team
  • Partner with Product to develop our long term product strategy and roadmap
  • Coordinate work across multiple engineering teams and other groups
  • Expand on our collaborative, inclusive engineering culture

About You:

  • Deep experience as an engineering leader of a high growth SaaS startup
  • Experience hiring, managing, and training top engineers in an high scale environment
  • Experience coaching engineering managers and leads
  • Experience managing multiple teams and coordinating high velocity engineering efforts
  • Strong technical experience with data/search/distributed technologies/high scale SaaS/etc
  • Strong team management skills
  • CS / Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
  • Based in NYC (or willing to relocate) - we tend to do M, Tu, Th in office and W, F remote

Actual compensation packages at the time of offers are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to: what you’d like to be paid, the skills/experience you bring and any role-dependent factors such as software expertise, what similar jobs pay in the NYC area, and our commitment to equal pay for equal work among those you’ll be working with. The compensation package for this role is targeted at $250,000-$300,000 base salary. Transparency is a core value at Grata, and we welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls.
