Responsibilities:
- Support Credit Underwriting and Risk Management-
- Assist the Head of Credit Products in designing and implementing more efficient credit underwriting processes and documentation.
- Develop tools, metrics, and dashboards to track and improve credit process performance.
- Collaborate with Risk Management in updates of Risk Control Self Assessments and related control testing.
- Draft policies, programs, and procedures documents.
- Process Improvement and Project Management:
- Utilize Six Sigma principles to analyze existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement data-driven solutions to improve operational performance.
- Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency of credit underwriting and approval workflows, ensuring alignment with regulatory and risk management standards.
- Create detailed project plans, set clear milestones, and ensure timely completion.
- Manage cross-functional projects to implement new/modified credit products, process improvements, technology enhancements as well as address compliance and/or controls requirements.
- Communicate project updates to stakeholders and resolve issues to maintain project momentum.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as a key liaison between frontline teams in the Commercial and Corporate Banking organizations, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, and Internal Audit.
- Build strong relationships across business units to ensure alignment and shared focus on clients among Relationship Managers and treasury, capital markets, foreign exchange, and derivatives product partners.
- Regulatory and Industry Expertise:
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments affecting commercial credit products and ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines.
- Leverage expertise in middle-market Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending to provide insights and recommendations that enhance the bank’s credit offerings.
- Leadership and Change Management:
- Act as a change agent to drive improvements in the relationship manager and client experience regarding credit underwriting and approval processes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed.
Work experience:
- 7+ years of experience in commercial lending, credit underwriting, or consulting related roles within a corporate or commercial banking environment.
- Experience in Commercial Banking and associated Lending and Deposit products.
- Experience with Treasury Services, Capital Markets, and Derivatives is preferred.
- Expertise in credit risk management and underwriting processes for C&I companies.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management best practices.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) and/or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) highly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and delivering results on time and within budget.
- Experience with treasury, capital markets, foreign exchange, and derivatives products is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
