We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Vice President of Commercial Strategy to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in driving the success of our diverse hotel portfolio by developing and executing winning commercial strategies that maximize profitability. You will work closely with both our Asset Management team and our third-party hotel management partners to ensure that all sales, marketing, and revenue management efforts are aligned and optimized for long-term success.
Our corporate office is located in Bethesda, MD. While candidates residing in the Washington, D.C. metro area are strongly preferred, we may consider remote work options for highly qualified individuals who are willing to commute to Bethesda, MD at least one week per month.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Independent Hotel Commercial Strategy Development: Formulate and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy for our independent hotels, aligning all sales, digital marketing, eCommerce, and revenue management efforts to drive optimal performance and reduce reliance on high-cost revenue channels.
- Revenue Optimization: Analyze portfolio data to identify opportunities for revenue optimization across segments and distribution channels for each hotel. Collaborate with Asset Managers to implement and refine revenue management strategies.
- Optimize Sales Department Efficiency: Establish consistent standards for sales department spending across the hotel portfolio. Evaluate affiliations, partnerships, and programs, setting key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure their effectiveness.
- Sales Personnel Evaluation and Recruiting: Evaluate the performance of property-level hotel sales teams and work with third-party managers to set sales team incentive goals and recruit top talent.
- PR and Social Media Strategy: Oversee the development and implementation of portfolio-wide PR and Social Media strategies, identifying opportunities for cost efficiency through cohesive portfolio-level initiatives.
- Digital Media Oversight: Oversee property-by-property digital media spending to ensure maximum return on investment and measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Brand Channel Revenue Maximization: Collaborate with brand partners to maximize revenue generation from brand channels. Oversee strategies related to hotel frequent guest program utilization and work with brand partners to optimize program revenue.
- Digital & eCommerce Innovation: Evaluate and test new eCommerce initiatives. Develop strategies to maximize hotel placement on AI-driven search results and establish efficient methods for hotel content development to optimize website traffic.
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry with a strong understanding of sales, digital marketing, eCommerce, and hotel revenue management.
- Proven track record of success in developing and implementing successful commercial strategies within the hospitality sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, fostering strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications, including CRM, data analysis tools, and hotel property management systems.

Compensation:
Base Salary Range - $200,000 - $235,000
Candidates will also be eligible for an annual performance bonus and an annual deferred stock grant. Final title and compensation will be commensurate with candidate experience.
