Collective Health is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Vice President of Product to lead our product strategy, roadmap, and execution. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for defining and delivering innovative products that meet customer needs, align with our business goals, and drive significant growth. You will lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep product management expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully launching and scaling impactful products.

What you'll do:

  • Product vision and strategy: Develop and articulate a clear and compelling product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the company's corporate strategy and market opportunities.
  • Design Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the design team, ensuring a consistent and high-quality user experience across all products. Champion user-centered and accessible design principles and best practices.
  • Insights leadership: Oversee the user research function, ensuring that user insights and data are effectively gathered, analyzed, and integrated into product decisions.
  • Advocate for user needs throughout the product development process.
  • Market and customer understanding: Deeply understand market trends, customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
  • Product roadmap and prioritization: Define, prioritize, and maintain a comprehensive roadmap, ensuring alignment across engineering, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Product Lifecycle management: partner with Program Management to oversee and drive consistency to the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and concept development through launch, iteration, and end-of-life.
  • Team leadership and development: Build, lead, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams across product management, content and UX design, and insights, fostering their professional growth and ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate effectively with engineering, marketing, sales, customer success, and other stakeholders to ensure successful product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Data-driven decision making: Define and analyze key product metrics, using data and insights to inform product decisions, measure success, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Partner with marketing and sales to develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies for new and existing products.
  • Budget management: Manage the product management budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to achieve strategic goals.
  • Internal communication: Communicate the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and progress effectively to executive leadership, the board of directors, and other key stakeholders.
  • External thought leadership: serve as a leading voice of the company.
  • Innovation and Experimentation: Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the product team, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and technologies.
  • Risk management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to product development and delivery, including but not limited to security, regulatory compliance, and privacy considerations.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in product management, with a significant portion in leadership roles overseeing more than one function.
  • Proven track record of successfully defining, launching, and scaling innovative and impactful products in the healthcare industry.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of various user research methodologies and the ability to translate research findings into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing product strategies that drive significant business growth.
  • Demonstrated fluency and track record in designing, developing, and launching AI-based products in a highly regulated industry setting, as well as demonstrated use of AI in their own work or personal use.
  • Strong understanding of agile development methodologies and lean startup principles.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams and executive leadership.  
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.  
  • Strong customer empathy and a passion for understanding and solving customer problems.
  • Experience building and managing high-performing teams in a growing Product Development organization.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Passion for technology and a strong understanding of the health benefits space.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a health plan or TPA, advocacy & navigation, interoperability, or other healthcare technology setting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in an accelerated growth phase company. 

Pay Transparency Statement 

This is a hybrid position based out of our San Francisco office, with the expectation of being in office at least two weekdays per week. #LI-hybrid 

The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to the salary, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits like health insurance, 401k, and paid time off. $261,105$326,500 USD
