Job Summary

Lead and drive operational and service excellence, compliance, and safety initiatives across White Cap’s field operations, including 450+ facilities. Partner closely with regional operations teams to operationalize initiatives, monitor key metrics, and strengthen our culture of accountability and inclusion.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement company-wide strategies and metrics related to safety, compliance, service excellence, productivity, and asset protection to optimize field operations. Develop and strengthen centralized centers of excellence at corporate level to enable field operations and service delivery to our customers.

  • Partner closely with the regional leaders to operationalize initiatives and monitor key metrics. Serve as a single point of contact for the field leaders.

  • Hold the regional teams accountable for delivering results and driving continuous improvement. Drive a close loop process that identifies strengths and opportunities for improvement based on field performance and feedback.

  • Champion a culture of safety and excellence. Identify and develop best practices for all aspects of environmental, health and safety compliance, including training, compliance auditing, corrective action investment, key performance indicators measurement and remediation.

  • Develop operational targets and metrics in alignment with the company’s business plan. Implement operational strategies, techniques, and tactics based on feedback from customers, regional leadership, operations management, and vendors. Ensure each region has a solid operational pipeline to ensure operational continuity.

  • Ensure policies, processes and practices are in place to safeguard company assets. Hold Regional Operations leaders accountable for the profit and loss and inventory/AR for assigned locations.

  • Support M&A and greenfield due diligence and integration through the lens of operational effectiveness, safety, compliance and service delivery.

  • Establish and maintain operating routines to help drive clear and consistent communication around priorities and expectations. Proactively manage performance.

Nature and Scope

  • Problems are complex and difficult. Solutions require complicated, extensive analysis and detailed investigation.

  • Sets or changes the operational plans/goals of an area/business.

  • Leads major business processes or support functions to execute company strategies.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 10+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management role having significant business impact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years related operations experience in a large organization.

  • Experience working in highly matrixed environment.

  • Experience creating large-scale safety programs and metrics.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • ISO certification preferred.
